Quarantine isn't the most exciting part of reef keeping... until it saves your entire tank.

Allow me to share what's happening with my Powder Brown Tang after he began showing signs of illness while still in quarantine. Because he was never introduced into my display aquarium, whatever he's dealing with has been contained to a single fish instead of putting every fish in my system at risk.

This is a real-world example of why I recommend quarantining every new fish. Quarantine is all about protecting the time, money, and livestock you've already invested in your reef.
